Day 2 Week 1:Flying solo - activity 1

Jean Batten and Amelia Earhart were a aviator. Amelia Earhart was born on 24th of July 1897 at United States and also she was the first woman to fly solo from England to New Zealand without stopping. She attempted to fly across the whole world but sadly while flying she disappeared at the pacific ocean. Jean Batten could've been the first woman to fly solo but she was born on 15th of September 1909 in Rotorua which is in New Zealand. She became the best-known New Zealander of the 1930's.

    You're right - Jean Batten and Amelia Earhart were both aviators. It is absolutely tragic that Amelia disappeared over the Pacific Ocean - do you know what else happened to her?
    It's cool that Jean Batten is from New Zealand. Can you tell us what these two female aviators had in common?
