Cycle Saftey !

On Monday the 16th of August , room 11 and I had Cycle Saftey , after morning tea we went outside and had little session of how to put/wear a helmet . After that we all grabbed a partner and a helmet each and helped each other put it on , next we grabbed a bike each and stood in a straight line . Our teach Mrs Tupou-Fonua told 1 person to ride the bike without peddling so she could see who could go the furthest . She called each person 1 by 1 to go . After that we got to ride around our basketball and netball court . Finally we all had the opportunity to ride around the bike track once .

 On Monday the 2nd of August , Half of room 5 , 11 , 12 & 13 went on a special trip to the Olympic Fan Zone in town . When we arrived at the Olympic Fan Zone we all settled down in front of a stage while waiting for Royal Oak to arrive as well (Another School) , when they arrived we all got the chance to meet a famous olympian Alexis Pritchard . Alexis Pritchard is a famous New Zealand-South African boxer , we all had the chance to ask her questions and also some of us were even lucky enough to win some prizes as well . 

After that , we all went off in our groups which were (“Group A & Group B) I was in group B . Group B was also divided into a group of 5. I was in a group with my classmates Tracey & Heimata and also 2 other students from room 13 Soane & Savannah . Our group went off and did something like a scavenger hunt . Where we had to go figure out some things about the Olympics and answer some questions , we all had fun learning about the Olympics .

Lastly , every single group (including Group A) went off to the other half of the Olympic Fan Zone which was like the game area . Where we all got to have fun and play some mini games , the first game I played with my friend Soane was the basketball game . Where we basically just had to shoot some basketballs in the basketball hoop and try to get the highest points . We had some more fun on the other games like Mini Golf and more .

Then sadly we had to leave because we were only there for half the day. I wish I could go back and explore more !
